How to uninstall or remove ESET Nod32 antivirus totally?

Are you facing problem to uninstall or remove ESET NOD32 antivirus? Do you want to remove NOD32 form your computer? Do you need to uninstall NOD32 and need to install another antivirus? Steps to uninstall or remove ESET Nod32 antivirus

Follow the following methods to uninstall NOD32 antivirus from your computer. Please, forward according to the methods. I mean, first apply method 1, then method 2. When you finished uninstalling, then stop. Now the steps are described below:

Method 1:

Uninstall or remove NOD32 by using WIndows uninstaller

  1. Click on Start menu.
  2. Then, select Programs / All Programs.
  3. Find ESET and click on it.
  4. At last, you will find Uninstall and click on it to uninstall NOD32.

If you failed to uninstall by following the above steps, then follow Method 2.

Method 2: Uninstall NOD32 by NOD32 removal tool

This is the easiest way to remove NOD32. Follow the following steps:

  1. Download NOD32 removal tool by clicking here [Download NOD32Removal].
  2. When download is finished, install it.
  3. After finishing uninstallation, Restart your computer.

If Method 2 fails, follow Method 3.

Method 3: Remove NOD32 manually

This process is the most critical among all the methods. Apply this method, when all of the above methods fail:

  1. Restart your computer and start Windows with Safe Mode.
  2. Click on Start menu and then click on Run.
  3. Type regedit and hit Enter key of your keyboard.
  4. From the registry editor find the following keys and delete them:                     [a] HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ESET
    [b] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ESET
    [c] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\egui
  5. Click on Start menu, then go to Control Panel. Later, Folder Options, then View and at last Show hidden files and folders.
  6. Go to C:\WINDOWS\inf folder and delete INFCACHE.1 file from that folder.
  7. Now. Restart your computer and after reinstallation, delete the following three folders.
    • C:\Program Files\ESET
    • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET
    • C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\ESET

By following the above steps, you can easily remove ESET NOD32 antivirus totally from your computer.

I had NOD 32 after my McAfee antivirus expired. It installed and worked well for about two days.Then it crashed and told me to re install.I then couldn't re install.so then I used the NOD 32 uninstaller to try to get rid of it completely.Didn't work! Then none of my Office 2007 files wouldnt open .The only thing that worked was to go into the registry and delete the leftover items like you explained. Bingo, that was what worked! Thank you so much

and also the last part = C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\ESET

Doesnt work,Method 3 wont let me dlete INFCACHE.1.

& why would in need to reinstall the software if im trying to uninstall this crap in the 1st place?

ok got it to uninstall, but i had to dlete log files & cache.ndb in c:\programdata\eset\logs IN SAFE MODE.

Hi, your information is really useful,however, i am still unable to install the older version on it. Initially i installed version 4 and due to expiry, i tried to uninstall it. By mistake i manually deleted files in safemode. Now it is throwing message as "a newer vesion is already installed". Thank you for your help. Methot 1 and 2 wasn't useful for me but methot 3 was great. But I didn't find ---[c] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\""""egui"""" --- Anyway I could reinstall Nod32 succesfully.

Best info so far that ACTUALLY gets NOD32 of your computer. The rest of the guides can get some sleep. The manual step-instruction helped me get rid of it. The 4.0 version of NOD32.

NOD32 removal tool was rubbish.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\inf folder and delete INFCACHE.1 file from that folder.

What if none of the above methods work :(

Tried all three of 'em the remover tool said there's not NOD32 on my system... the uninstaller said that files where removed but they r still there and it still shows as workin... and the manual one when I try to go into registry don't let me erase 'em (I get an error message whenever I tried to erase those)

I can't believe anyone would come w/ a worse and as clingy a program as NOD32... ppl should boicot that company

My dad is an idiot and downloaded ESET and Windows XP Recovery onto my family's old computer (eMachines, windows xp home edition). We used to have Norton Antivirus but it expired long ago, yet popups will still show up for it. HOW DO I GET RID OF ALL THREE THINGS? NOTE: One or all of these programs aren't letting me access the internet so I'm on our family's main computer trying to figure out what to do. I tried step three (because no access to internet) and it won't let me delete a lot of the things including: all from step seven. Plus, I can't find Windows XP Recovery. If I find the ENET or Norton folders it will give me an "Access Denied" even though I'm on the administator. After a few minutes it will give me a warning saying the system is shutting down and restarting. I really think I'm screwed. PLEASE HELP!! STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!!

I had the same issue on windows xp. wanted to uninstall it using control panel. It gave me a fatal error halfway.

so i just deleted everything i could manually, restarted my computer, and after that it let me remove it using add remove programs. might want to try as a last resort, it worked for me

Wow, I came back here to say thank you for this post. I have been trying for days to uninstall NOD32 from my computer because a few hitches which I wanted to get rid of.

I tried the first method but it would not go because I could not delete the virlog.dat in the documents and settings folder.

It was the second method that worked. I downloaded the piece of software and uninstalled although I didn't understand the language it was written in.
